What months are the best time to visit Las Vegas?

The off-season is always a good choice for those wanting to avoid crowds and find the best deals. If this is the case for you, you should plan your Vegas trip for July or August. Bear in mind, however, that these months are scorching, as it is the peak of summer. 

For tourists that prefer the best weather and don’t mind tourist crowds, the best months to travel are April-May and October-November.  

For those looking for the best deals, January (after NYE) usually offers great prices. However, January and December are the coldest months, and temperatures can drop quickly, so you’ll need to pack some extra layers.

January is one of the coldest months in Las Vegas. Even though temperatures can drop at night, it’s still a comfortable climate for traveling. The average temperature is 48°F (9°C), with highs of 57°F (14°C) and lows of  34°F (1°C). The sun shines for an average of eight hours a day.

There is, on average, a 15% probability of rainfall, and there are about nine daily hours of sun. Even though it’s not the ideal temperature for traveling, tourists can still enjoy Las Vegas thanks to the many indoor activities the city offers.

With the beginning of spring, temperatures rise considerably to an average of 57°F (14°C). Highs hit 70°F (21°C) and lows average reach 45°F (7°C). The chances of rainfall increase as the month progresses, and the city gets ten hours of daily sunshine.

December’s climate is very similar to January’s; however, it is slightly colder. The average temperature is 46ºF (8ºC), with highs of 57ºF (14ºC) and lows of 34ºF (1ºC). There are, on average, seven hours of sunshine every day, and there is still little chance of rain during your holidays.

  • Christmas Season
    Christmas season isn’t particularly incredible in Las Vegas, but the city sure lights up for the celebration. You’ll find enormous Christmas trees, luxury hotels fully decked out in glitz and Christmas glamour, Christmas feasts, and lights that will amaze you.
  • New Year’s Eve (December 31)
    New Year’s Eve is a big deal in Las Vegas. Between casinos, luxury hotels, and nightclubs, visitors have plenty of parties to choose from. There are also many fireworks shows around the city on one of the busiest days of the year!

What is the best time to visit Las Vegas weather-wise?

When it comes to the weather, the best time to visit Las Vegas is during May-June and September-October. The weather is warm but not scorching, and a more comprehensive range of activities can be enjoyed, including indoor and outdoor events, as well as exploring the natural wonders nearby, which would prove challenging during the hottest months of the year. 

However, if you don’t mind the sweltering temperatures and are looking forward to a week by the pool, traveling during July-August is also a good choice. Pack sunscreen and light clothes, and drink plenty of water during these months. 

Las Vegas is a city in the middle of the desert, so the chances of rain during your trip are minimal; however, it’s always a good idea to check the weather forecast before you pack! 

Also, keep in mind that even though Las Vegas is very warm during summer, in winter, it can get downright chilly, especially at night when temperatures drop quickly.
